Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT): Basics

Professional Training

Participants will gain familiarity with the fundamental principles and strategies of DBT for treating multi-disordered individuals. Participants will learn how to maintain a compassionate stance; how DBT’s biosocial theory conceptualizes client problems as arising from a deficit in skills and motivation; and how treatment is designed to help clients strengthen effective coping.

This course is for participants wanting to engage in an in-depth experience in the practice of DBT. Current DBT practice is not a requirement although those applying DBT with clients will greatly benefit from this training because it applies the consultation team model of learning and refining your DBT practice.
