Ian Singer

Ian is a Senior Clinical Counselor at Catholic Family Services where he provides individual and couples counseling. He is on faculty as the Centre for Mindfulness Studies where he facilitates Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy Groups. He is also an instructor in the Applied Mindfulness Meditation Certificate Program at the University of Toronto where he teaches Mindfulness of Feelings. As a Certified Gottman Bringing Baby Home Educator, Ian leads groups that help couples maintain closeness and enhance their partnership as they transition into parenthood. And at the other end of the relationship spectrum, he leads groups for recently separated/divorced adults. In his ongoing training, Ian has emphasized evidence-based therapies such as Cognitive Behavior Therapy, Dialectical Behavior Therapy and Emotion Focused Therapy. His approach is collaborative, non-judgmental and focused on fostering healthy copying and desired change in the present.
