Dr. Nicola Hermanto completed her Ph.D. in Clinical Psychology from McGill University and is a clinical psychologist registered with the College of Psychologists of Ontario. She completed her pre-doctoral internship at the Centre for Addiction and Mental Health working in in-patient and out-patient settings with a focus on relational trauma and complex clinical presentations. She then completed post-doctoral training in the Borderline Personality Disorder Clinic at CAMH. Nicola works with individuals and couples. She integrates the approaches of Dialectical Behavior Therapy, Cognitive Behavioral Therapy, and Emotion Focused Therapy. Nicola provides a therapeutic environment that is warm, non-judgmental, and collaborative to support clients in making personally meaningful and lasting changes. She has a special interest in working with clients who struggle with self-criticism, shame, and experiences of trauma. Nicola enjoys helping clients foster compassion and acceptance towards themselves, as well as in their relationships with others.
