Ian Singer completed his MSW at the University of Toronto and is a registered social worker with the Ontario College of Social Workers. He offers individual therapy, couples counselling, and mindfulness coaching. Ian has extensive training in Emotion-Focused Therapy, Cognitive Behavior Therapy and Dialectical Behaviour Therapy. As a Certified Gottman Bringing Baby Home Educator, he helps couples maintain closeness and enhance their partnership as they transition into parenthood. Ian is on faculty at the Centre for Mindfulness Studies, where he facilitates Mindfulness-based Cognitive Therapy groups and leads the graduate Mindfulness-based Skills Development group, a program he developed. He is an instructor in the Applied Mindfulness Meditation Certificate Program at the University of Toronto, where he teaches Mindfulness of Feelings. Prior to CMBH Ian was a Senior Clinical Counsellor in a community family services agency, where he practiced individual, couple and group therapy for more than 12 years. His approach is client-centred, collaborative, and focused upon fostering healthy coping and desired change in the present.
