CMBH Annual Professional Training

CMBH Annual Professional Training

This year we are excited to be hosting Dr. Alan E. Fruzzetti, clinical psychologist, professor, and researcher in the field of Dialectical Behavior Therapy (DBT). Dr. Fruzzetti will provide a two-day online training this year (Zoom), “Brief DBT Family Interventions in a Crisis and Beyond”. The training will occur on Friday and Saturday, December 10 and 11, 2021 from 11a - 4p EST. We encourage all participants to register early so as to receive reading material well ahead of the training date.

The annual CMBH gathering of clinicians from all over Ontario (and beyond) has established a tradition of bringing in master therapists from around the world to facilitate thought-provoking workshops. We intentionally strive to challenge our thinking and our clinical practices. Topics from previous years include:

  • Working with Emotions in Psychotherapy
  • Working with Shame in Psychotherapy
  • Acceptance and Change in Working with Emotions in Psychotherapy
  • DBT Skills for Multi-Problem Adolescents
  • DBT for Complex Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder.

Our annual training provides a hands-on approach to learning. It is a gathering where the discussion is always robust. Master therapists share their views on working effectively in various therapeutic relationships. Clinical work is illuminated with clinical examples, video clips and emergent discussions.
