Shelley Kavanagh is a Registered Psychotherapist and Registered Art Therapist with 20+ years of experience working with young people challenged by emotional and behavioral dysregulation. She is a Consultant with the Toronto District School Board, The Child and Youth Advocacy Centre and numerous community-based agencies. Shelley works with children and adolescents who have experienced trauma, are engaged in self-harming behaviors and have difficulties managing their anger outbursts. She uses multiple modalities to support the development of a strong alliance with adolescent clients. She integrates Dialectical Behavior Therapy, DBT Skills Training and mindfulness practices into treatment. Shelley is also a faculty member at The Toronto Art Therapy Institute and teaches creative therapeutic interventions.
