Polly Sykes is a Registered Psychotherapist with the College of Psychotherapists of Ontario. She received her Masters Degree in Counselling Psychology from the University of Toronto in 2009 and has since completed extensive training in Emotion-Focused Therapy (EFT) for Individuals and Couples. In addition, she incorporates her training in trauma-informed treatment and her own personal practice of Mindful Self-Compassion into her professional work.

Polly has worked in a variety of mental-health settings with a diverse client population before settling into private practice in 2013. She is experienced in treating anxiety and depression and working with clients to integrate and heal from adverse or traumatic childhood experiences.

In her clinical work, Polly supports clients as they navigate significant life transitions and stages including the early chapters of adulthood, the adjustment to new parenthood (for both the individual and couple), grief and loss, divorce/separation and the specific challenges and opportunities of the mid-life period.

Polly’s approach to therapy is grounded in developing a compassionate and authentic therapeutic relationship in which she works collaboratively with her clients to promote personal healing and growth.
