Shari Stein is a Certified Yoga Teacher trained at the Esther Myers Yoga Studio in Toronto, having completed training in 1975 at the Sri Yogendra Yoga Institute in Mumbai, India. This training was designed for Western health and mental health practitioners interested in integrating yoga into their clinical practices. Shari has also been a Psychiatric Social Worker and a lawyer in the field of disability and immigration law.
Currently, she works as a Mediator and Arbitrator while also teaching and practicing mindful movement and yoga. Shari has taught and delivered training extensively at international conferences, university courses and yoga or mindful movement classes and workshops. She is a long-standing member of Mindfulness Toronto and is a Faculty Member within the Applied Mindfulness Meditation Program at the University of Toronto. Shari is passionate about fostering her own MindBody resilience and in supporting others in their quest for balance and self-compassion. Shari has done extensive research on cultivating self-compassion from which emerges her innovative approach using mindful movement and gentle yoga.
